Biography
David Keller, DO, is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, joint replacement
surgery, and fracture care. With advanced training in both arthroscopic and reconstructive
procedures, Dr. Keller provides comprehensive orthopedic care focused on restoring mobility,
function, and quality of life for patients of all activity levels.
Dr. Keller earned his undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University before
completing medical school at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine – Carolinas. He
completed both his internship and orthopedic surgery residency training through Rutgers
Health/Jersey City Medical Center, where he was recognized for his excellence in patient care
and education, earning the Resident of the Year Award in both 2023 and 2025. He further
advanced his expertise through fellowship training at the University at Buffalo.
Inspired to pursue orthopedics following his own experience undergoing knee reconstruction
after a sports injury, Dr. Keller understands firsthand the importance of individualized care and
returning patients to the activities they enjoy most. His clinical expertise includes primary and
revision shoulder, hip, and knee arthroplasty, arthroscopic procedures of the shoulder, hip, and
knee, prosthetic joint infections, periprosthetic fractures, and upper and lower extremity fracture
care.
Dr. Keller takes a performance-focused approach to recovery, drawing from his experience
working with professional athletes and sports team coverage. He emphasizes minimally invasive
techniques, evidence-based treatment strategies, and personalized care plans designed to help
patients return confidently to both daily life and high-level performance.
His most common procedures include shoulder, hip, and knee arthroplasty, ACL reconstruction,
rotator cuff repair, and fracture surgery of the upper and lower extremities. In addition to surgical
care, Dr. Keller offers comprehensive orthopedic services including outpatient surgery, imaging
services, joint injections, physical therapy, and durable medical equipment support.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Keller enjoys golf, soccer, hockey, and spending time boating. His
passion for sports, patient-centered care, and advanced orthopedic treatment make him a
valued addition to The Orthopaedic Institute team.
