Biography
Andrew J. Stiene, MD, MS, is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Orthopaedic Sports
Medicine, shoulder replacement, and knee replacement. With advanced training in sports
medicine and joint preservation, Dr. Stiene is dedicated to helping patients of all ages return to
the activities they enjoy, whether that means competing at a high level, returning to work, or
simply maintaining an active lifestyle.
Dr. Stiene earned his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in 2014 before
obtaining his Master of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2015. He completed
medical school at the University of Toledo in 2020, followed by orthopaedic surgery residency
training at Wright State University, graduating in 2025. He further advanced his expertise
through fellowship training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the University of Kentucky in
2026.
Inspired by his own experiences with sports injuries while playing baseball in high school, Dr.
Stiene pursued orthopaedics to combine his passion for athletics with his desire to help patients
recover and regain function. He enjoys working with recreational and competitive athletes and is
equally committed to helping patients return to work and daily activities that are meaningful to
them.
Dr. Stiene provides comprehensive care for a wide range of shoulder and knee conditions,
including upper extremity tendon injuries, rotator cuff tears, shoulder labral injuries,
acromioclavicular joint injuries, clavicle fractures, shoulder arthritis, lower extremity tendon
injuries, knee arthritis, ligament injuries, meniscus tears, patellar instability, and cartilage
disorders. His clinical interests include Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, shoulder replacement, and
knee replacement surgery.
His most common procedures include rotator cuff repair, shoulder labrum repair, shoulder
replacement, tendon repair procedures, ligamentous knee reconstruction, meniscus repair and
partial meniscectomies, patellar stabilization procedures, knee cartilage restoration, and primary
total knee replacement. Dr. Stiene emphasizes individualized treatment plans designed around
each patient's specific goals, whether nonoperative management or surgical intervention is the
best path forward.
In addition to surgical care, Dr. Stiene offers comprehensive orthopaedic services including
outpatient surgery, digital imaging, MRI evaluation, joint injections, and physical therapy
coordination.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Stiene enjoys golf, fitness, chess, and spending time with his wife, cat,
and dog. His patient-centered approach, sports medicine expertise, and commitment to
personalized care make him a valuable addition to The Orthopaedic Institute team.
