Workers Compensation Program
Case Managers, Adjusters and Human Resource Personnel:
The Orthopaedic Institute strives to meet the needs of our Workers’ Compensation patients in a timely manner, by providing
a dedicated Work Comp department available 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.

Worker’s Compensation Program Services
- Treatment of all musculoskeletal injuries, including fracture care.
- Treatment of cuts (minor suturing), abrasions, needle-sticks, chemical exposures and other work place injuries.
- X-rays, casting, splinting, injections and aspirations.
- Testing (MRI, EMG / nerve conduction studies) at the Orthopaedic Institute facilities scheduled and performed within 2 to
3 days of authorization date.
- Ongoing treatment and follow-up of non-surgical patients.
- Referrals to general orthopaedic, hand, foot & ankle, and spine specialists at the Orthopaedic Institute within 2 to 3 days
of authorization date.
- Outpatient surgery at the Orthopaedic Surgery Center scheduled and performed within 10 days of authorization date.
- We provide completed DWC 25 forms for each patient upon every visit and fax them back to the carrier within 24 hours.
- Referrals to physical therapy and hand therapy as appropriate.
- Referrals to other specialists as appropriate.
- Pharmaceutical and durable medical equipment dispensary program.
- Work status notes faxed within 24 hours of each visit.
- Results from testing performed at the Orthopaedic Institute facilities faxed within 2 days of test date.
- MMI and PPD granted as soon as physician can ascertain patient’s status.
Pre-employment physicals
Offered at Lake City and Alachua offices.
- Drug screening upon request by employer.
- Pulmonary Function Testing
- Audiogram up to 4000Hz
- EKG

of receipt.
