Radiology and Interventional Pain

The board certified radiologists at TOI specialize in diagnostic imaging, the diagnosis of bone and joint disorders and perform minimally-invasive joint and spinal injection procedures. The Radiology department works with TOI's orthopaedic physicians to help speed the diagnosis and treatment of patients with musculoskeletal pain and injuries.

Digital X-ray

Utilized in each of our four locations, digital X-ray is faster and more efficient than traditional X-ray imaging. Immediate image viewing is available as a digital file that can be presented for interpretation and saved as part of the patient's electronic medical record.

Magnetic resonance imaging is a noninvasive way to capture images of internal body structures. Unlike X-rays and computed tomographic (CT) scans, which use radiation, MRI uses a powerful magnet to provide accurate information about the anatomy of joints, soft tissue and bones. Each exam is interpreted by our in-house, board certified radiologists. MRI is available to TOI patients in our Gainesville and Ocala locations.

Bone Mineral Density (BMD) Testing

A BMD test measures the density of minerals in your bones using a special X-ray. TOI's Rheumatologists use BMD testing to diagnose and determine the risk of osteoporosis and monitor the treatment of osteoporosis. BMD testing is avilable at our Lake City facility.
