This May, thousands of women across the country will embark on an eight-week physical activity challenge for better health. They will be part of the Woman Challenge, a program of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health. The Orthopaedic Institute has started a Woman Challange team and we invite you to join us as we get fit together. For more information, visit the TOI Blog or visit www.womenshealth.gov/whw to register for the free program.
TOI Helps Haiti
On Tuesday, January 12th, an earthquake devastated the impoverished Caribbean nation of Haiti. The 7.0 magnitude quake’s epicenter hit just 10 miles west of the capital city Port-au-Prince, leaving nearly 3 million people in need of emergency aid.
When catastrophes like this occur, most people run away from the wreckage. Heroes, on the other hand, run into the crisis, risking their own wellbeing for the benefit of others. The Orthopaedic Institute is proud of our own heroes who contributed to the medical relief efforts in Port-au-Prince and the surrounding areas. Taking time away from work and their families, our colleagues bravely and selflessly answered the call to aid the victims of this grave disaster.
