The Orthopaedic Institute (TOI) is proud to announce that David L. Roberts, M.D., has joined its group of 24 fully trained, experienced, specialty physicians providing the complete spectrum of musculoskeletal care.
Dr. Roberts is joining the FAST ACCESS team, a group of primary care orthopaedic physicians within The Orthopaedic Institute, offering same or next-day appointments for the evaluation and treatment of common musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. The mission of TOI’s FAST ACCESS Clinics is to meet patients’ sense of urgency by providing access as quickly as possible.
“As the community grows, we recognize the need to grow along with it and continue to fulfill our commitment of providing same or next-day appointments. Dr. Roberts will help us do just that,” said Eric Brill, TOI’s CEO.
Dr. Roberts will enable the Gainesville FAST ACCESS Clinic to extend its hours, accepting appointments until 7:30 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays. TOI has four locations throughout North Florida in Gainesville, Ocala, Lake City and Alachua. Each location has a FAST ACCESS Clinic with physicians providing same or next-day appointments. Dr. Roberts has joined the Alachua County FAST ACCESS team, which includes Phillip L. Parr, M.D., in Gainesville and James W. Berk, M.D., in Alachua.
Dr. Roberts is board certified in emergency medicine and practices primary care orthopaedics. He graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine where he also completed his nephrology fellowship. Additionally, Dr. Roberts received general surgery training at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Ga.
Dr. Roberts is a member of the Alachua County Medical Society, serves as the chairman of the Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and is a member of the University of Florida Center for Spirituality and Health.
