This May, thousands of women across the country will embark on an eight-week physical activity challenge for better health. They will be part of the Woman Challenge, a program of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office on Women's Health (OWH). Woman Challenge is a part of the OWH year-long Woman Activity Tracker program and its launch will kick off the 11th annual National Women's Health Week (May 9-15, 2010). The Woman Challenge encourages women to get at least 2 hours and 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity each week.
Getting started is easy! Register HERE (http://www.womenshealth.gov/woman/register/) for the Woman Activity Tracker, a program designed to help you be physically active all year long! Set personal goals, earn virtual awards, and interact with a community of women just like you! Then take the Woman Challenge pledge, your commitment to 8 weeks of setting and meeting personal physical activity goals.
The Orthopaedic Institute has started a public team and we hope that you join us on our journey to better health; our team name is The Orthopaedic Institute. Mark your calendar and start logging your efforts in the Activity Tracker, which will count toward our Team total. We look forward to motivating you to reach your personal wellness goals!
